been a long time user of Firefox but they broke the printing to Pitney Bowes labels in the latest version again, so am about ready to jump ship through frustration. The printing has been an issue with them that seems to be on a very low priority to fix. Other than that I really like the browser

My husband loves and uses Chrome, and I love and use Firefox. We share the same computer so we each use the different browsers so that we can stay logged in our gmail, FB etc, and not have to log each other out all the time. But I probably would use Chrome if we did have our set up.

Nils- Joe says 9 is underrated? Do you have 9? I think I have like 7 or something because whenever I open it, it wants me to download 8!

When you mess with website design you tend to use them all as a good practice. They all display website a little bit differently.

I remember reading somewhere that IE is the BEST browser to use...
...to download a better browser-take your pick!

(Firefox for 10 years, here...)

Wow, ten years that's probably near when they started. I discovered FF in 2006, then Chrome came along. The rest is history! LOL

Was doing a little browser research saddened by the appearance of a website in IE 8 on my XP machine.

I came across this chart, look at Internet Explorer usage over the last ten years...can you say bye bye IE!
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

Looks like it has a year or two left before it's done. From even an intermediate website developers standpoint, it could not happen fast enough. It pains me to think that 8 % of my website visitors are on IE 8!

Hopefully by posting this I can pull 1-2 two more users away from IE and on to either Chrome or Firefox, if just a tad early from the inevitable.

<end rant>

Here is a current graph taken from
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

[attachimg=1]

I highly recommend trying chrome if you haven't. Why? Because it will probably make your time on the internet more enjoyable by serving up pages faster and more efficiently. If you have a bunch of bookmarks from IE or FF you can easily import them to chrome.

Download and try it free here:

I have been looking at the forum here with Chrome on an Android tablet and it didnt work or look the greatest. Just installed Firefox for Android and its light years better.

:ermm: Time to start using Firefox on the desktop maybe..also maybe have to add a poll for different mobile devices.

Windows 10 will have a new browser that's not Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer, Microsoft's venerable but often despised web browser, may be on its way out.

but if you read the article
The switch from IE to Spartan appears to be more an exercise in rebranding rather than a big technical change

my biggest gripe with browsers these days is adobe's flash plug in not to mention their continuous updates, which never fixes the issues!

Changing my vote to Firefox. Been on it for months now due to some very annoying virus or malware with Chrome!

Been using Firefox for years now. Agree that IE is dead, but I thought they were doing something new with Windows 10??

I use Chrome occasionally, but pretty rarely.

I agree, the biggest issue on the web is Flash. Never ending updates that don't seem to fix any of the crashes.
