After speaking with Rob, we have both decided to offer a 3d course for cnc.
The details are attached!
Due to the scope of the work involved, Robert would like to limit the course size to a maximum of 18 people.
This will take place in Bridgeton again this year! The course price is $500 per person for the 3 days.
Anyone interested in signing up can do so through Robert.
One of the common feedback statements I receive from the camps is that people thought there would be more 3D computer teachings. This course will have 2 solid days devoted to this, and a 3rd day devoted to painting and color theory.
Jody and I look forward to seeing both new and old faces again this year!

I have moved this post here now. I should let everyone know that this is not an Indiana Rob's sign camp. It's a 3d cnc course that Rob has been gracious enough to host and hold it at his place. The space and scenery are amazing, and that's why we are holding it there this year.

The details of the course can be found in the attached downloadable pdf!

Our hope is to teach, and to inspire the attendees to push their comfort zone, armed with some new knowledge and self confidence!

Hello, is there a reason this is in the lounge and not the workshop forum? I was looking all over for this thread in the work shop forum and couldn't find it.

If you guys want more exposure we could run it in the main forum, if someone wants to make a banner, I'll put it up.

Also, another good way to promote this on the forum is in your signatures. Put a little banner or link to this page in your signatures by editing your sig in your profile.

Moved to "General". I think it gets the most traffic here.

The banner at bottom of every page is roughly 800px by 180px. I can probably work with whatever you guys send me. Any format works> .pdf, .png, .jpg, .ai, eps.

FYI: for everyone. You are able to put a 800px by like 75px in your signature.

I thought I would post a quick update on the course in June! Both Jody and I are quite excited!!!
I do have to state that this is a first come, first serve course. Lot's of people have been signing up, so thank you guys for that! But without a deposit, we can't secure your spot for June, so it's important to get those in with your reservation.
Here's the link for deposits and sign-ups- robert2280@att.net
And if anyone has any questions, please do contact me- info@oxenhamdesign.com

You guys will learn a ton of stuff, and will be able to start applying it right away when you get back.
We look forward to seeing everyone, and the course details can be found in the downloadable PDF at the start of the thread.
Thanks everyone!

I am a avid hobbyist and a beginner in 3d signs. Could I benifit from this class? I do have a Shark CNC and Aspire software.

If so, are there spaces still available?

Hello Mark!
If you want to further yourself in 3D, hobbyist or beginner, than this will be for you! You already have 90% of what you'll need already, the cnc and Aspire!

I do believe there are some spot still open!
Please email RJ at robert2280@att.net and he'll get you organized.
Also, make sure you download the PDF for the course outline at the start of the thread, so you'll be prepared on what to expect.
I will be setting time aside during the days to work individually with whomever may need assistance with what we'll be learning.
Thanks!
Jamie

Well, Jody and I are getting pretty excited!
I thought I would attach a render of the model we'll be creating in Hexagon. We'll then import it into Aspire, add some detail, then create a final sign in Aspire with our Hexagon model being front and center!

Ditto all that Miles said. Many thanks to Rob and Deb who are truly great hosts and Jamie and Jody who are so knowledgeable and forthcoming with that knowledge. It was definitely a worthwhile experience. I'm really glad I took the time away from the shop to work on enhancing my CNC skills, meet great folks, and learn a couple of cool finishing techniques.

Jody and I would like to thank everyone who was able to make it! We both had such a good time! There were some who clearly wanted to throw their computers across the room during the 3d modelling, but you all survived the challenge in great shape! A big hats off to Rob and Deb who made it all possible!

And despite the rumors on the internet, Jody is NOT way funnier than me, she's just prettier :grin2:
