Unit Converter from Google Play coming in handy on the phone. Never had to convert imperial to metric so frequently, pre laser era.

I design in FlexiSign which is really metric friendly- right click on the corner of the screen and you switch from metric to real measurements- also you can type in 47mm when you are in imerial and it will convert to inches. On the machine
it gets a bit stickier. I have a metric rule and a metric tape measure on the machine.
