Hi All,
I just replaced the spoilboard on our machine. We always buy 3/4" MDF. While speaking with the sales person I learned they sell Trupan in 1" thickness which would last thru more fly cuts because its thicker. Trupan is lighter/less dense than MDF. Has anyone used trupan as a spoilboard?
The fact that its less dense means its lighter in weight and easier to handle. Those 5'x10' sheets of MDF are a bear to move.

I haven't used it but I've read on other forums that Trupan is actually a preferred spoilboard material, especially with vacuum.

John, Trupan is what we use, it's definitely the right material. I didn't know about the 1" version though, maybe I'll try that next time.

Does it come in 5 x 12 sheets? I use MDF on my table because it comes in 5 x 12' size and I don't need to cut it down. It the exact size as my table bed so if it does come in that size I'd be willing to try it out.

Hi Gary, My CNC people told me that thicker is better and at about .55" the board should be replaced.

Well, that is good information John, thanks.
Bob, yes I believe that is the size that it comes in 5'x12' because we end up cutting off 2' each time for our 5'x10' router
